| Control with Ultrasonic Precision |
The Blood Volume Monitor (BVM) provides routine feedback control of relative blood volume (RBV). By measuring blood volume changes, the effect of ultrafiltration on blood volume reduction can be quantified and limited to a level that is tolerated by the patient. Additionally, individualized patient alert levels can be established. When the relative blood volume (RBV) alert level is reached, ultrafiltration ceases. Cardiovascular Stability with Thermal Control When this occurs the temperature of the patient may increase which may result in thermal related hypotension. The Blood Temperature Module (BTM) controls the dialysate temperature in response to the physiological needs of the patient. In a closed loop bio-feedback system, the control algorithm of the BTM will compensate a change in body temperature by regulating the temperature of the dialysate. The BTM can also be used to monitor access recirculation.
